The World Has no choice

The Scoop

As a James Bond fan, I always thought it would be fun to write a spy or secret agent story. A couple of Hard Case Crime releases - "Forever and a Death," by Donald Westlake, and "Binary," by Michael Crichton, got my brain rolling. It didn't start out as a sequel to The Snake Charmers, but then the characters just started showing up anyway, following the reappearance of some similar themes. I think of it as more of a spiritual sequel. From inspiration to idea to first draft, this took less than a year - record time for me. It practically wrote itself, which was really fun. Maybe the Covid quarantining helped. A follow-up, a sequel to end the trilogy - The Order of Chaos - is already in the works!
